Tales from Fairyland
This
is somewhere you can really lose yourself and
if you find you are stressed or overworked at
school or home..
You can 'Plan your escape to Fairyland'. Adventures
of all kinds are assured and you are guaranteed
to meet all manner of strange folk.. Some of the
more alluring are 'Titania', 'Oberon' , Queen
Mab', 'Peter Pan', to name a few.
I loved photographing there and will always remember
it as my 'Fairy heydays'.
Anyway this series gives a 'sneak preview' into
fairyland a sort of behind the scenes portfolio.
The coming of the fairies
I'll share something with you shall I
Something that happened when I was little,
The day the fairies came, so long ago.
A green and flowery meadow with a hill behind,
That seemed to stretch up forever to the sky above.
The long windy road and the sun so hot, you know
I felt so small then, that I could hardly see
an end.
And the smell of the flowers reminded me of things,
Things that happened to me long ago.
It brought to mind the night I saw the fairies.
That night seems so distant in my memory now
and so long ago.
I saw them first, as they played ,
you know, in the woods.
They seemed so strange but beautiful to me.
They danced and sang such sweet songs.
They were so heavenly, I can hardly remember them
It was so long ago.
Then the fairies sat down to feast
On moon berries and cream.
Oh such berries you would never forget
Even though It was long ago
And In a clearing where the big trees
Grew they formed a circle,
And danced by the light of the moon.
I began to feel so sleepy then so I went,
You know, towards the hill.
Then I saw a house beyond with a gate
That seemed so old to me.
It began to rain, so I went under a tree.
The fairies played hide and seek
Above me through the leaves.
Then the rain stopped and
I trod on down the long hill
It seemed a long way off to me
Until I reached the gate
I know this won't mean much to you,
But it does to me,
and then I grew up you see!

The End
